Your Maine Summer:
a guide for locals

If you are a Mainer, this article is for you. If not, you might want to check out the latest town features over on the blog.

Summer in Maine is lovely. As we all know, millions of tourists come to enjoy this season in our beautiful state.

But what about summer in Maine for Mainers?

Even if your schedule is busy, you likely want to get the most out of the season before it flies by.

Can you relate to the following?

  • You want to explore your local Maine area, especially places you’ve never visited. BUT you don’t want to endlessly research to discover things to do or places to see.

  • You want to create new memories and enjoy Maine in a way that stays within your budget and allows for flexibility.

Maine Features can help! Our online shop has a new digital download product line called “Your Maine Summer.” It was designed to provide Mainers with solutions to these challenges.

What you’ll find in “Your Maine Summer”

This digital download product includes a bucket list with at least 16 activities designed to be enjoyed between the first day of summer and Labor Day weekend. Complete a few of the items or the entire list. You can customize your adventure according to what best fits your schedule and circumstances. The bucket list does not need to be completed in any particular order, though some event options occur on specific dates.

There are ideas, resources, and/or tips for each activity on the list, including regional fairs and festivals, suggested parks and nature trails, ideas for supporting your community, and other creative ways to explore and enjoy your local area of Maine. The document is full of clickable links to save you research time.

“Your Maine Summer” places an emphasis on enjoying Maine’s natural beauty, as well as connecting with the state’s history, traditions, and people.

The bucket list can be printed and hung on your refrigerator or another visible location in your home to track your progress through the summer. The remainder of the guide should not be printed, but is best used on your phone, tablet, or desktop due to the embedded links.

Individuals, couples, and families can all use the “Your Maine Summer” guide. It is not age-specific.

There are NINE guide options organized by county or region of Maine. All of the activities and links in each product are specific to the location you purchase.

How to choose a Maine region…

It is best to select the guide for the area in which you plan to spend most of the summer. If you have fully explored your home county or local area in past summers, then a neighboring region might be the better option. The bucket lists vary only slightly from one region to another (you’re not going to be sent looking for lighthouses in Aroostook County).

After you purchase “Your Maine Summer” guide, you will receive a link in your email (check your spam folder if you don’t find it). You’ll have 24 hours to download the resource to your preferred device.

Enjoy your Maine summer!
